Living in the wine vats? One of the most interesting aspects of the Vineyard Lofts project are the existing wine vats that have been incorporated into the Champagne region units. Back in the day, the wine was processed in large concrete vats before being transferred to wood barrels for aging. These vats with 10” thick walls have been cut open, and turned into bedrooms, kitchens etc. To call these living spaces unique is an understatement. Exposed concrete walls and polished terrazzo finish in the cuts create a cutting edge modern look that is still warm and organic.
